When I was in Japan visiting the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, I was on the lookout for a kitsune. Knowing that kitsune are shapeshifters that most often appear as a fox, can appear and disappear at will, are extremely intelligent and they revel in deceiving people, the numerous kitsune statues throughout the area might have been more than they appear because their eyes seemed to watch me as I made my way around. Kitsune are also known to take the shape of beautiful, sensual women and there were quite a few of those around as well.
